Introduction:
The merged municipality of Lievegem, consisting of the former municipalities of Zomergem and Lovendegem, recognized the need to accelerate the transition to electric driving for its service vehicles. With a strategic vision on sustainability and improved mobility, the goal was set to develop a reliable and efficient charging infrastructure.
Goal:
Creating a robust and accessible charging infrastructure for the municipality's service vehicles, enabling them to switch to a more sustainable mode of transport and contribute to reducing the ecological footprint.
Challenges:
● Coordinating and implementing charging infrastructure across two locations.
● Guaranteeing optimal functionality and accessibility for municipal employees.
● Navigating the technical and logistical challenges involved in the
installing charging points in public spaces.
Solution:
The project has successfully implemented 12 charging points, distributed across the two locations, which not only increase operational efficiency but also send a clear signal of the municipality's commitment to sustainable practices.
